The Bwa sun mask is incredibly elegant. It finds a balance between rawness and design; strength, and harmony. A triangular motif spreads in a concentric pattern from the centre of the mask all the way to the edge of the mask.
The masks, representing the sun, were originally created by the Bwa tribe of Burkina Faso to celebrate their farming season. The sun, along with the earth and rain were necessary for a successful harvest.
It is an elegant construct combining balance, harmony and movement.
